My grandmother has rheumatoid arthritis all over her body and lately, she has been complaining about index finger joint pain. This means that she is starting to feel pain in her index finger joints. She says that it isn’t a pleasant feeling and it is starting to really bother her. Although she said this, she didn’t want to go to the doctor. She said that she was getting old and there was nothing that can be done about the pain. She wasn’t only feeling it in her index fingers. It was affecting quite a few of her fingers.
I told my grandmother that there are things that can be done about the pain. She gives up a bit too quickly when it comes to treatments. She also doesn’t know about all of the latest advancements in medicine and treatments in general. I persuaded her to go to the doctor and get her hands and fingers examined. She is already taking medication for RA but I know that there are other options that can help specifically for the index finger joint pain.
